Significant Greenfield Industrial Development Planned in Thames Centre
November 13, 2009

The Municipality of Thames Centre is pleased to announce the commencement of a significant greenfield industrial development in the community of Dorchester.

The new greenfield industrial development will include establishment of the DaVinci Business Park, a 68 acre prestige business park located at Shaw and Marion Road.

The first business to locate in DaVinci Business Park will be Armatec Survivability Corporation with the construction of a 300,000 square foot building commencing immediately. The private sector investment in DaVinci Business Park and Armatec will be substantial and will be home to in excess of 350 employees.

“I am extremely pleased that Thames Centre and particularly the community of Dorchester was selected from a list of several locations in Southwestern Ontario as the location for the development of DaVinci Business Park, commented Mayor Jim Maudsley. “Council and staff set as a priority an aggressive strategic approach for economic development and investment attraction and we are most pleased that we can welcome this investment and Armatec Survivability Corporation into the Thames Centre business community”, he added.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to develop DaVinci Business Park in the Municipality of Thames Centre”, commented Karl Pfister, President. “Construction of the new home for the Armatec group of companies will commence immediately with completion expected in late 2010”, he added.
