In the photo- Dr. Phil Whiting, President & CEO Enerworks and Joe Preston, Member of parliament ~ Elgin-Middlesex-London Dorchester, Ontario — Joe Preston, MP for Elgin-Middlesex-London, today announced that Enerworks Inc. will receive $2,465,000 under the Community Adjustment Fund Intake 2. “Residents in our community will benefit from projects like this one, which encourage economic revitalization,” said MP Joe Preston. “Our investment in the manufacturing sector in Thames Centre will help this region become recognized as a key player in a global economy.” EnerWorks is a solar thermal (solar hot water, solar space heating and solar cooling) company. The project will reduce costs and increase production capacity by, improvements to existing production facilities, new facilities, engineering solutions and operational improvements. "EnerWorks is thrilled to have been selected by the Government of Canada for support under the Fed Dev CAF program,” stated Dr. Phil Whiting, EnerWorks President and CEO. “This kind of government-industry partnerships helps create jobs and, in the case of EnerWorks, helps move Canada another step towards an economy based on the manufacturing, sale and use of clean energy. And a special thanks to Joe Preston, our MP - he has worked hard to help us." This project will be funded through the Community Adjustment Fund, a two-year, $1-billion national program aimed at addressing the short-term economic needs of communities hit hardest by the global economic recession. The approved project must meet the terms and conditions set out in the contribution agreement. FedDev Ontario was created as part of Canada’s Economic Action Plan to support economic and community development, innovation, and economic diversification, with contributions to communities, businesses and non-profit organizations in southern Ontario.
