AYLMER, ONTARIO  – The Government of Canada is investing in a business expansion that will drive the economy, create jobs and make this facility the largest supplier of textiles in Ontario for the automotive packaging sector. The investment of $125,000 was announced today by Member of Parliament Joe Preston (Elgin-Middlesex-London) on behalf of Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz.

“Entrepreneurs drive our economy and the Harper Government is lending a hand and capital to help make sure small and medium sized businesses, like Enns Textile, can continue to grow,” said MP Preston.  “This targeted investment will help Enns Textile become the largest textile supplier for the automotive packaging sector in Ontario, creating jobs and strengthening the local and regional economy for the future.”

Enns Textile will retrofit their furniture finishing and small scale textile manufacturing facility, increase their production and generate cash flow for further expansion. This expansion will create six full-time jobs and two part-time jobs in Elgin County.

This investment is delivered through the Sand Plains Community Development Fund administered by the Ontario Association of Community Futures Development Corporations. The fund targets community-based initiatives that support regional development, attract and retain people and investment, and stimulate business development and job creation.
