The Community of West Elgin along with representatives from surrounding municipalities, the provincial government, the federal government and senior kindergarten students joined together with the Board and Staff of The Arts and Cookery Bank at the official groundbreaking on Thursday, October 1, 2009.
Over 50 individuals gathered at The Bank to turn the sod at the site of the local treasure. Over $265,000 was awarded to the project through the Community Adjustment Fund.
