Preston takes time to discuss politics with students from St. Anne’s catholic elementary school
St. Thomas, Ontario - Joe Preston, MP for Elgin-Middlesex-London spent time with Grade 5 students at St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School on Thursday.
Grade 5 teacher Gary Slaught invited Preston to discuss government with the students as part of their curriculum. Students had the opportunity to ask questions to Preston during the hour-long visit ranging from “why did he get ran as an MP” to “what are the names of your 3 cats.”
Preston said, “I learned about politics at the dinner table with my family. It is important to discuss what our government does and educate the students on the importance to get involved.”
Preston visits schools regularly during his constituency weeks.
