17th Annual National Parks Day

July 19, 2007
Canada is known world wide for its majestic beauty and natural resources. We pride ourselves in how we take care of these things in order to be able to enjoy them to the fullest. As a result of this, this Saturday marks the 17th annual National Parks Day. This day was created in 1990 to celebrate our national parks, provincial parks, regional parks, and historic sites. Canadians from coast to coast gather on the third Saturday of July each year for many different special events. These events include hikes, workshops, art displays, competitions and historical information sessions that are organized by the operators of these areas.
