Canada Post extends Current Postal Service
September 22, 2010

Joe Preston, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London was informed by Canada Post following lengthy discussions that the mail will continue to be delivered at the West Lorne Postal Box Facility located at 173 Main Street until late spring 2011.

Preston communicated with Canada Post the concerns of the residents. “It is important to clearly and openly discuss all of these changes with the effected residents” stated Preston. “I anticipate that when I visit West Lorne during ‘Joe on the Road’ in October, the people will want to discuss their concerns and I will be there to listen.”

Canada Post has extended the current lease at the Main Street Postal Box until the end of June, 2011. Preston has been assured that the residents of West Lorne will continue to receive full postal services that will continue in the community at B&J Variety on Graham Street.  An information session will be scheduled to explain the community mailbox services later this fall scheduled to be in effect late spring, 2011.
