The House of Commons commences on November 18th and Joe Preston, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London has a slate full to take back to Parliament.

Preston will be sworn into office on the 18th before entering back into the commons but has been meeting with new Conservative Members of Parliament and Minsiters in Winnipeg this week.

“Prior to the election, there was a lot of unfinished business” states Preston referring to the Tobacco exit strategy, the divestiture of the Port Stanley Habour and $15,000,000 through the economic development task force that he chairs.  “I have been in contact with the different departments and Ministers to discuss these issues and move forward.”

Following the election, Preston immediately contacted the Minister of Industry to discuss the current situation with Sterling and has tentatively booked a meeting with Mayor Jim McIntyre and key players to discuss Ford Talbotville.

He also listed many other issues that he will continue to address including a week to acknowledge Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) a disease that is not recognized by the federal government.
