LONDON, Ontario – Joe Preston MP for Elgin Middlesex London was pleased to welcome the Hon. John Baird, Minister of the Environment to the London area on Thursday, November 8, 2007.

During their visit Mr. Preston and Minister Baird toured the Biotron at the University of Western Ontario, a state of the art research facility. The Biotron will encompass a breadth of research on the physical, chemical, and biological stresses on the survival and productivity of biological organisms.

From the Biotron, Mr. Preston and Minister Baird toured the Thompson Engineering Building where they met with students and faculty to learn about the advancements in bio-mass technology.

Minister Baird then addressed guests at the Elgin- Middlesex - London Conservative Riding Association Annual Fall Dinner.

“I would like to thank Minister Baird for visiting Elgin - Middlesex - London and surrounding area to witness first hand the achievements this area has accomplished in environmental technology,” said Mr. Preston.
