After 3 years of discussions and negotiations with the Canada Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), My Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) has been awarded a broadcasting license to operate a commercial FM radio station serving the City of St. Thomas and the surrounding area.
Joe Preston, MP for Elgin-Middlesex-London stated “St. Thomas is the largest community in Canada without a radio station. This is an idea whose time has come. It has taken a great community effort to make this happen.”
Bob Hammersley, President & CEO of the St. Thomas & District Chamber of Commerce, is very enthusiastic about the MyFM investment stating “We will welcome this new communication service in many ways. It will benefit, inform and entertain our area and be actively involved in community service.”
The station will operate at 94.1 MHz and will offer a Gold-based Adult Contemporary music format and feature local news, weather, sports and community events.
