Joe Preston, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London met with three (3) stakeholder groups for pre-budget consultations. Preston hosted Business leaders including agricultural producers and Municipal leaders.

“Local views on economic issues are always important to the Member of Parliament” said Preston. “These discussions help keep our government focused on keeping spending as efficient and effective as possible remembering these people represent the taxpayers.”

Discussions focused on how the government of Canada affects lives of those in our area.
Topics as diverse as the appropriate use of research dollars in agriculture and technology and the effective role of the Elgin Business Resource Centre in our riding were reviewed.

“This is the way that small business and local agricultural producers have a voice in the development of the budget,” stated Preston. “Both the local and government’s priorities remain job creation.”
