Joe Preston, Member of Parliament visited Mr. Dennis Dlouhy’s Grade 10 French Immersion class on Thursday, January 20th to review Franchise Business Proposals.
Proposals including a Multi-Season Skate, German Bakery and Holiday Café were all on display during the franchise fair. Preston, a small business owner with 35 years of franchise experience including The Pizza Factory, Wendy’s and Boston Pizza, spoke to the class on the benefits and downsides.
“I was inspired by the level of creativity on display”, said Preston. “Teachers like Dennis Dlouhy and this program allows for students to sprout their entrepreneurial ideas. I better watch out! I had some fellow competitors in the room”
Preston shared with the students, stories from his past experience including meetings with Wendy’s Founder Dave Thomas and the start to Kentucky Fried Chicken.
