London, Ontario - Ronald McDonald House of SouthWestern Ontario will be cheering today.
As part of Canada’s Economic Action Plan, the Government of Canada and Government of Ontario announced their contribution of $5.2 million to the renovation of the House located in the City of London in December, 2009. Fundraising organizers have received contributions over the past 10 months from various organizations including Cargill, RBC, BMO and the Western Mustangs. With $500,000 left in fundraising efforts, McDonalds’ owners in the region stepped forward and contributed the final $513,000 needed for the build.
Joe Preston, MP for Elgin-Middlesex-London was on hand along with MP Ed Holder, MPP Chris Bentley and MPP Khalil Ramal for the celebration.
The project will be completed by March 31, 2011
